Making education accessible to all
Education changes the world

Education: a universal right that is still unequally accessible.
Access to education is a fundamental and inalienable right for every individual. Yet millions of people are still deprived of it. Currently, 272 million children have no schooling at all, while over 700 million adults, two-thirds of whom are women, cannot read or write. There is also an urgent need for education for those who attend school in conditions that do not allow access to quality education.
Today, more than 70 % of children living in developing countries are unable to read or write a simple sentence, even after several years of schooling. This situation jeopardises not only their future, but that of our entire societies.
More than ever, concrete action is needed. At Action Éducation, this conviction guides every one of our commitments.
Our struggles
Action Education fights to ensure that the right to education is fully recognised and respected by governments. Through our programmes, we are working to ensure that everyone receives a high-quality, truly inclusive education.
Find out more about our day-to-day commitment to children and vulnerable populations, so that, in addition to access to school and training, their basic needs and fundamental rights are also protected and respected.

Fighting the battle for education for all alone is futile.
The strength of Action Education's projects lies in combining our expertise with that of our financial and operational partners, in association with public institutions and the populations concerned.
Action Education's many successes show how much their commitment counts and makes a difference. It is thanks to them and their financial support that we are able to act.
Today more than ever, Action Education is mobilised to pursue its mission. Together, we will meet the challenges successfully.

Testimonials
I'm a farmer in Konglor, in the province of Khammouane. My friend Sone and I took part in a training course on food processes. We learned how to make salted eggs, pickled fish, rice noodles and bamboo shoot pickles.
The practical aspect of the training made it easy for us to follow the processes. The training uses the local ingredients available to us, so we can put it into practice while using our region's resources.
This training will enable us to produce this food for our families and generate income. We are grateful for this opportunity.
I'm a teacher at the CEEP* in the commune of Sapouy. The training was very fruitful and will be useful on a daily basis. When I get back to my organisation, I'll be applying what we've learnt, such as group teaching and the use of toolboxes (these toolboxes contain teaching tools). The topics covered were very welcome and helped to break down a number of barriers that will ease the transition for pupils from pre-school to primary school.
*A CEEP is a state education centre, unlike a bisongo (community education centre).
