Welcome to Action Education Switzerland
The ACTE 2 project aims to improve access to fundamental rights for children and young people, particularly in terms of civil status, education, protection and inclusion, in Benin, Senegal and Togo.
The ACTE 2 project (Action pour la Citoyenneté par et pour Tous les Enfants par l'Éducation - Action for Citizenship by and for All Children through Education) aims to improve access to fundamental rights for children and young people, particularly in terms of civil status, education, protection and inclusion, in Benin, Senegal and Togo.
In these contexts, many children are not registered at birth or are registered late, limiting their access to essential services such as education. In addition, young people remain largely uninvolved in public life and the decisions that affect them, while local players still need to build their capacity to respond effectively to these issues.
The project is a continuation of the work carried out since 2011, which has led to significant improvements in birth registration, increased awareness of children's rights and support for civil registry systems. ACTE 2 builds on this momentum by empowering children, young people and local stakeholders.

Project objectives
The project aims to improve access for vulnerable children and adolescents to civil status and quality education in a protective environment, to empower young people and their associations, and to support public authorities in implementing inclusive policies and services in the fields of education, protection, gender and inclusion.
Our actions
- Building the skills of teachers and social players in life skills related to gender and inclusion
- Implementing micro-projects in schools to anchor these skills
- Supporting the inclusion of children with disabilities in school
- Support for school organisations in their advocacy for civil status
- Capacity-building for youth associations and support for the implementation of civic micro-projects
- Training young people in advocacy, accountability and citizen control of public action
- Support for dialogue between young people and public authorities
